Kyle Baylis

At the Baylis Insurance Agency, we pride ourselves on educating our clients on the ins and outs of life insurance, and how life insurance can make a difference for you and your loved ones.

Life insurance is so much more than a final expense policy—it is a part of your legacy. To better understand life insurance, check out this list of a few frequently asked questions and concerns Kyle has provided.

Q: Why do I need life insurance? I’m not married and don’t have any children.
A: There are a few reasons to have life insurance even if you are without a family. First of all, in the event of an untimely death, there is the possibility of leaving a very hefty sum of debt to a family member. At a time of grieving, the last thing your family needs is debt as well. Secondly, did you know life insurance can help to support your retirement?
Q: How can life insurance support my retirement?
A: With a whole life or an indexed life insurance product, you can use the accrued cash value to help pay off life’s little emergencies in retirement. Or, take some time to travel the world worry-free! Also, with the right product selected, you can use life insurance to greatly supplement your income.
Q: Do I really need this if I already have life insurance through work?
A: That’s great that you have an insurance policy through work! But you could be in a tough spot in the event you lose your job and contract some sort of illness that will make you uninsurable. Additionally, if you are young and healthy, you could possibly find a better rate with your own life insurance policy.
Q: Can I have more than one policy?
A: Absolutely! In fact, I have a colleague who has 15 policies, one for each niece and nephew, and his brothers and sisters.
Q: I have a medical condition, am I insurable?
A: I suggest filling out an application and seeing what comes of it. I have many clients that I have been able to find a package for—including clients who were told they cannot be insured.
Q: I’ll never use life insurance.
A: Did you know you can use a portion of your life insurance in the event of a terminal illness to make life a little more comfortable?
